UX + UI Design for Desktop and Mobile

As part of the Google UX Design Professional Certificate, I created this website for a fictional local theater called Double Feature Theater, which specializes in classic and retro movies. My goal was to make it visually striking and engaging, while maintaining hierarchy and clarity of information. To begin the project, I created a survey of potential moviegoers to see what features were most important to them in a movie theater website.

’Double Feature’ Theater (spec)

From this research, I learned quite a bit: 80% of moviegoers prefer reserved seating over first-come, first-serve, and 65% prefer to buy their movie tickets in advance; those numbers get even higher when examining frequent moviegoers in particular (those who attend at least 3-4 times per year). The ability to order concessions online, an interactive seating map, and a 'coming soon' section were also highly requested, with almost 60% of users mentioning one of these as a top priority.

Below, you can see how I combined the best ideas from these sketches into my finalized outline, which I then translated into a low-fidelity digital wireframe, and finally a high-fidelity prototype.

Finally, here are a few more finished screens for the site.
